For Immediate Release
Arcadia–The San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ Center has become the fiscal sponsor for QTalk Radio, an LGBTQ focused online streaming station and Podcast developed by local Pasadena resident Xavier Mejia.
Aaron Saenz, Board President of the SGV LGBTQ Center stated, “By adopting QTalk Radio, The Center gains a platform that can share the stories of our LGBTQ community in a medium that is both portable and accessible. We can record stories almost anywhere and stream them instantly or save for distribution via social and other media.”
Xavier Mejia, QTalk Radio Program Director states, “Our Stories Matter and it is vital to our existence as queer folk to have access to relevant information needed to function as a community. True social justice comes with a platform where others can listen to our voices and see who we are.”
The Center’s Board made the decision to act as the fiscal sponsor for QTalk Radio because the organizational missions are aligned. QTalk Radio’s mission is to collect, curate and digitally disperse the LGBTQ community’s life experiences and passions. By acting as a fiscal sponsor for QTalk Radio, the Center builds connections between people through storytelling, leading to a more understanding and inclusive world. In return, QTalk Radio gains the ability to streamline operations and organizational structure.
