Health Care Equity Index (HEI) is the national benchmarking tool that evaluates health facility policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors, and employees. The Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center is one of the largest and most experienced LGBTQ+ health and mental health providers in the country. It is supported by a research team working to improve care and treatment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

The committee was transformed over time to serve as the advisory board for the LGBTQ+ Center. AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) Health works to achieve equity in health care and promote the well-being of LGBTQ people and other underserved communities and people living with and affected by HIV. Latino Equality Alliance is a Community Partners project that advocates for the equity, safety, and well-being of the Latino LGBTQ community in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center also has a Trans Lounge program that is educational, social, and empowering. GLSEN Los Angeles is a grassroots initiative that works locally in its community to ensure safe schools for all students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Satrang serves the South Asian LGBTQ community by promoting awareness, acceptance, and empowerment through social, educational, and promotion-related events. Providers who have a particular interest and experience in various aspects of caring for the LGBTQ+ community have been named Rainbow U LGBTQ+ champions.
The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles promotes a healthy future by addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of young people ages twelve to twenty-five. His experience is in identifying and addressing the emerging health problems faced by Latino and LGBTQ populations. The Long Beach LGBTQ Center promotes equity for LGBTQ people through culturally responsive promotion, education, programs and services, as well as for LGBTQ youth and their caregivers. TransYouth Family Allies is an organization that empowers children and families by partnering with educators, service providers, and communities to develop supportive environments where gender can be expressed and respected. PFLAG Los Angeles unites people who are LGBTQ+ with family, friends, and allies to promote equality through its mission of support, education, and promotion. San Fernando Valley LGBT Community Center works to promote freedom, equality, justice for the LGBTQ community - especially among the Latino population.
